Wednesday JAM Scoring and Reporting Parameters

  • Scoring for the PHRF spinnaker fleet will be by class and, in a seperate calculation, by fleet.
  • JAM fleet will not be eligible for PHRF spinnaker (overall) scoring.

Class scoring

  • All classes (including JAM and one design) will be scored as follows:
  • (# of boats starting in your class plus one) – (your finish position in your class) = your class points for the race
  • Boats scored DNF, DSQ, OCS, RET, etc. will all receive one class point as long as they were involved in the start and will count in the above calculation. Boats not involved in the start will be scored zero for the race.

Fleet Scoring

  • Fleet score will be determined as follows:
  • (# of boats starting in the PHRF spinnaker fleet plus one) – (your finish position in the fleet) = your fleet points
  • Boats scored DNF, DSQ, OCS, RET, etc. will all receive one fleet point as long as they were involved in the start and will count in the above calculation. Boats not involved in the start will be scored zero for the race.

Total Calculation

  • There will be no throwouts.
  • A boat’s sixteen (16) best scores will be used to determine the season championship.
  • The scores for missed races will be zero. Please note that ‘zeros’ are reported on the spreadsheet as blanks. Boat didn’t race, etc.

Result Reporting

  • Results will be calculated and presented in an Excel spreadsheet weekly (whenever possible). They may occasionally be posted in the clubhouse and will be available on the MYC website. Results after drops will not be calculated until season results are final.
