MUSKEGON YACHT CLUB POOL RULES


  1. Individuals must be at least 14 years of age or accompanied by their parent or legal guardian when they enter the pool area.
  2. All persons shall register with the bartender on duty in the lounge and obtain a pool pass to present to the lifeguard upon entering the pool area. All guests must be registered at this time.
  3. Admission to the pool will be refused to any person having a contagious disease, open sores, or bandages.
  4. Children under eight years of age must be accompanied by a responsible person in wading pool area as well as main pool area. All parents are responsible for their children at all times.
  5. Personal conduct in the pool area and bath house need be such that the safety of self and others not be jeopardized.
  6. Spitting, spouting of water, roughness, rowdyism, running, etc., will not be permitted in the pool area.
  7. Only qualified swimmers are allowed beyond the roped shallow water area. Swimmers under sixteen will be required to pass a deep-water test.
  8. No food or drink may be consumed while in the pool. Any glassware or gum is prohibited on the pool deck area.
  9. Dogs and other pets are not allowed.
  10. The pool may be closed at the designation of the lifeguard on duty, any day that cold or inclement weather prevails.
  11. Should it be reasonable and appropriate for the pool guard to assist in an emergency or accident at the waterfront area, the lifeguard will first clear and then close the pool. All swimming is prohibited until the lifeguard returns and reopens the pool.
  12. The telephone is for summoning help in the event of an emergency. Personal calls are prohibited.
  13. Absolute authority has been delegated to the club manager and will be enforced by the lifeguard on duty. They have full authority to exclude anyone from the pool for failure to comply with these regulations and also may add temporary rules that are not published.
  14. The pool will be cleared for ten minutes every hour.
  15. Use of the pool without a lifeguard present is available to adult members who must accept personal responsibility for the safety of all persons in the pool area. In addition, the pool must be covered and the gate secured upon leaving. Personal responsibility forms are available at the bar.
