Notice of Race Muskegon Yacht Club 2008 JY15 / Laser Regatta Series Spring Series (5/27/08 – 7/1/08) Summer Series (7/8/08 – 8/12/08) Fall Series (8/19/08 – 9/23/08) RULES: This regatta series will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. The rules of the appropriate class will apply. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY: Each series night is open to all boats of the JY15 and Laser classes. Eligible boats may be entered by showing up on scheduled race nights. FEES: Required fees are as follows: $10 per night or $50 for the entire summer series(s). Other Fees: Club boats are available for charter on a first come first serve basis for a fee of $10 per night. Please pay for charter boat usage at the bar. SCHEDULE: Dates of Racing:
The scheduled time of the warning signal for
the first race is 6:30 PM. Number of races: Class Number Races per Day JY15 1 up to 4 Laser 2 up to 4 COURSES: Races will be held on Muskegon Lake and will be windward / leeward courses. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS: Sailing instructions will be available at the Muskegon Yacht Club after May 1, 2008. SCORING: The scoring system is as follows: 12 races are required to constitute a series. (a) When
fewer than 13 races have been completed, a boatís series score will be the
total of her race scores. (b) When from 13 to 18 races have been completed, a boatís series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores. (c) When
19 or more races have been completed, a boatís series score will be the total
of her race scores excluding her four worst scores. (d)
DNC scores based on the number of boats sailing that night, not the
series. Prizes: Awards will be presented to top 3 boats in each class for each of the series. |
